Vetboard Victoria's 2018-19 Annual Report
Minister for Agriculture Jaclyn Symes's receipt of the Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria's 2018-19 report was noted by the Legislative Council of the Parliament of Victoria on 17 October 2019.
From July 2018 to June 2019, Vetboard Victoria's 9-member Board oversaw 129 investigations, 18 disciplinary hearings and 3 prosecutions. The Board granted general, specific or specialist registration to more than 388 veterinary
practitioners and managed the registration renewal of over 3,300 practitioners. At 30 June 2019, there were 3,509 veterinary practitioners on the
Register of Veterinary Practitioners, an increase of 4.7% on the previous year.
In 2018-19, the Board's focus was on implementing improvement tasks and objectives set out in Vetboard Victoria's 2019-2022 Corporate Plan and the Minister for Agriculture’s Statement of Expectations (SOE) for improving the administration and
enforcement of the Board’s core regulatory functions.
Vetboard Victoria’s Seventh Board completed its term on 17 June, with the Eighth Board commencing a three-year term on 18 June 2019.
